I do agree, it's not in the best shape, but it's still an extremely rare animal. If you aren't into color morphs, then just ignore it. I personally think it's interesting. Not $11k interesting, but interesting none the less. Face it, deformities are bringing big bucks in the aquaria trade. You don't have to like it, it's just a fact.

The other thing, like Chaos said, it's legal to keep a snow silver aro in the US. So for those of us less fortunate who can't own Asian aros, something like this is a chance for a rare arowana.

As far as shipping a 28" aro from Thailand to the US??? I'm sure it can be done.

Oh no, not another. Who would pay that for a fish thread... Look, there are a lot of things in this world that people pay a lot of money for because that's what they're into. Gold, Platinum, Silver, houses, cars, art etc. People pay what they pay for things because it makes them happy. There is no right price for anything, it's worth whatever people are willing to pay. Who are you to judge the worth of things? If it's not worth it to you, then look away. I'm not arguing that it's worth 10k or 60k, it's just that they are allowed to try to sell it for whatever they want, and people are allowed to pay whatever they want.

Every you turn someone cant accept someone else opinion...Tikarmann, I see where you are coming from, and in the end 11k is a LOT of money for a fish but how is that any different from someone spending a few mill on a house, Hundreds of thousands on a car? To each his own. We all go by the rule, a fish is only worth what someone will pay for it. If I had the money, I would buy that Aro. i know how rare they are, the fin will heal, and in the end its a matter of taste. You have a what P14 in ur avatar?? I take it that means you like it. I can easily say that what P14's cost is insane, and how could someone pay for that? why because I dont like it ? (which by the way I do) Just because you don't like it doesnt mean thats how it is , and vice versa. i can assure you that that aro will sell. Theres a reason you usually dont see the peole that spend a huge amount of money on fish...they are usually the die hard collectors with actual means to fund their hobby. Seen any pics of the guy in Japan that bought the 30,000 Albino AUL? or the guy with the 150k koi?? most of these people prefer to keep their collections private If I could have a few P14, tiger rays, pearls, that sno aro, and a few rarer guys ...I would..who are u to judge?
