Lots of the more serious or big players may spend big money on aros but may never want to flash the fish around to the general public. They might not even log on to the net or is aware of any such fish sites. Hell they might not even be members of such forums. People can & will buy these kind of fishes. It does not however mean that it will surely appear some where on the net. I am sure this particular piece will be sold.

you guy in the US just drool over the snow aros because they are diffrent and leagle in the US

if asian aros were leagle in the US you wouldnt spit on that snow aro if you chould get a 10 xback com for that kind of money

if all the so called hard core collectors never show their fish whats to say their are not 100s of these so called snow aros around but because they are behind closed doors how would we know

for me unless the fish is in perfect condition and holds its self well in the tank i wouldnt even think of buying it

look at that nice snow aro its dead but you would still buy it just because it white

no matter how much money you have you would have to be a fool to spend that kind of $$$ on a fish thats not in good health

we should all have albino children just because they are rare if thats the case

What is it about this site? Every you turn someone cant accept someone else opinion...Tikarmann, I see where you are coming from, and in the end 11k is a LOT of money for a fish but how is that any different from someone spending a few mill on a house, Hundreds of thousands on a car? To each his own. We all go by the rule, a fish is only worth what someone will pay for it. If I had the money, I would buy that Aro. i know how rare they are, the fin will heal, and in the end its a matter of taste. You have a what P14 in ur avatar?? I take it that means you like it. I can easily say that what P14's cost is insane, and how could someone pay for that? why because I dont like it ? (which by the way I do) Just because you don't like it doesnt mean thats how it is , and vice versa. i can assure you that that aro will sell. Its a sure thing. maybe not on aquabid, actually probably not on aquabid. Theres a reason you usually dont see the peole that spend a huge amount of money on fish...they are usually the die hard collectors with actual means to fund their hobby. Seen any pics of the guy in Japan that bought the 30,000 Albino AUL? or the guy with the 150k koi?? most of these people prefer to keep their collections private ;) If I could have a few P14, tiger rays, pearls, that sno aro, and a few rarer guys ...I would..who are u to judge?

Laz

i didnt buy my p14s for crazy money and i didnt sell my p14 pups for mad money

my sole reason for buying my p14s was to breed them which i have done so whats your point ?

Snows are rare, there is no question of that. As for the value of this piece, the seller has every right to his asking price & if there is a willing buyer, then so be it. If one pays top dollar for a fish it automatically labeled a fool, then so be it as well. It's his money. The Japs have been keeping Asian aros for a long time now & are constantly getting top quality ones. They too pay top dollar for snow aros etc. just like how they pay top dollar for batman rays.

if a man spends $60,000 on a snow aro and has it in one tank and the tank next door has a $3,000 xback in which fish will people who know nothing about fish think is more colorful and striking

a few years ago batman rays were hardly ever seen now their is great demand for them in japan with high prices how long do you think it will be befor people start cutting up rays or breeding they with deformatys if its not happening already

the tropical fish trade is turning like the cold water market with all the messed up hybids and albino this and that just because fishkeepers are looking for something diffrent

people making test tube fish tattoing fish cutting their tails off braking backs to make short bodyed fish injecting then with dye tanning fish putting them in white fibreglass tanks to increase shine levels to get more money were will it end

the so called king aros are a joke

keeping aros alive that have a dead aro still attched to them

Who cares what the person that doesn't know about aro thinks. He's not the one keeping the fishes. A person who has money to spend has the right to spend it anyhow they want. As long as the owner of the fish is happy with the fish he bought, the rest are bystanders. You can't dye or cut up etc. etc. any aro for it to become a snow aro.

I agree there are many unethical people who are altering fishes for profit. However, people who are selling snows or kings are not altering them, its a freak of nature. If the price is high but nobody wants it, tough. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything. Willing seller, willing buyer.

The bottom line is you are indeed entitled to your opinion, the seller has his right to sell it at whatever price he wants since it's his property & the buyer has the right to buy it at whatever price he deems fit.

people are just sick for their hunt for something diffrent and people who cash in om such deformatys are sick

when my ray pups were born the 1st thing i was happy about was they were both health with no deformatys

if they were batman rays i wouldnt have thought yeh nice big $$$$ comeing my way i wouldnt have let the same 2 rays breed again

with things like king aros people are trying to promote that kind of deformaty

the snow aro in this thread is not in good shape and surely thats the main thing no matter what color it is

anyone who spend $60,000 on a snow aro is not a fishkeeper if he/she was they would know how many nice fish they chould buy with that money

anyone who spend $60,000 on a snow aro and says they are happy is just fooling them selfs its just a silver aro

if snow silvers were that nice and in demand im sure they would have been captive bredd now if they can do it with asian aros they can do it with silver aros if demand was that high

Nobody hopes that the aros would come out deform. It just happens. Also they don't breed king aros. That too is a freak of nature. At the end of the day, I would say, let the potential buyer worry bout if it's worth the risk buying since in your judgement, this particular aro is not in good shape.
