So I got this new aquarium...

12" wide, and 21" tall you mean? across and deep sound almost like the same thing!

He is saying 12" wide, 21" depth. I think. For such a long tank it must look kind of awkward. 55's look to narrow, add on a couple feet and it only gets funkier.

not to be a party pooper it's a 78gal.i wouldnt have when to his house and robbed him but thats just me anyways the oscars would be good but just how many loachs and silver dollars are we talking becase if you buld a DIY sump it;ll work.just no knife fish 1 foot width is not ehnogh

yes that's right.
dwacudo - it's kind of late, I've had the knife for 8 months.

okay. this isnt making any sense. take a tape measure and measure from the front edge of the tank, all the way to the back side of the tank, the side going back to the wall. thats depth. youre saying its 12 inches long, going left to right, then 21 inches back to front, but you said its 6 feet long. so. im utterly confused.

72"L x 12"W x 21"D is how I interpreted what he said. And if that's the case he's got an 80 Gallon tank.

On a side note, After searching 3 different Aquarium manufacturers websites I can't find anyone that makes a 72x12x21. Maybe someone read the tape wrong and it's a 72 x 18 x 21?

okay (thank you), so if this is the dimensions, opinions for an oscar, never the less two, would not be sufficient for the life of them..they get big and therefore, need big tanks, length and depth wise.(again...IMHO) the loaches probably will be fine for a few years at least, as i hear theyre slow growers, but oscars get huge, fast. my oscar feeding 2 times a day moderately, has grown about 4 inches from early december, where he was around 1-2"... big fishies!..

there is a converter on the top of the page according to your measurements your tank is about 80 gallons. still a huge tank i am jealous you can put in oscars for sure i dont have xp with clown loaches but people put clown loach schools in 30g so why not.

loaches will be good for a long time, oscars should be good for a while, knife i wouldnt go with
