Haha so funny. Right after I self righteously state that I trust my source blah blah blah. I start to see the pearl with its front lip curling upward, so I started freaking out. Pulled out the book and re read the death curl section 3-4 more times lol. Upon this I discovered that the pearl was sitting right under the power head and the current may have been causing it to raise up. This morning after checking all seems well in the tank and both are playing around and laying in the sand. No bite marks or anything yet so I’m happy.

My flagtail seems to have some pits on its head, I’m unsure if it is normal or if it is hith so I am dosing it with hex shield , and subsequently most other fish in the tank are also eating it so I guess my whole tank is being qt right now anyway. Both rays seem to be nibbling on them.

My rays hide as soon as their full of food. And i dont think yours is washed out in its colors. Its still young and will develope over time in coloration and pattern. You have seen my bd x henlei female. She is dark gray atm and will turn out jet black over time. Ive heard from a friend who have kept and bred rays for well over 8 years now that by the time they are 30cm wd they have developed its coloration completely.

This new one seems to have more details in it than the aqua log. I like both so far. Would be good to find out if the second is a reliable source or not.

So these guys are doing really well. They seem to get along with each other so far. No chew marks or squabbles that I’ve seen yet. I’m liking their colours. Also I was able to source out an fx6 to add to this tank. Super stoked about that.

Also I helped a friend pick this guy up today for his current rays. He says it’s a temp tank until he gets his ray pond up and running. He said I could buy it from him for a really decent price. Might take him up on the offer. But I won’t be able to set it up until after I move. I figure it would be a nice starter once I move lol. Even though it’s almost double my current tank.
