The best part of the turkey is using the left overs along with the left over ham to make Monte Cristo sammy's the next couple of days.

I've had that before, a very long time ago. What is in that sandwich exactly. They're good.

It's a ham and turkey sandwich with cheese (traditionally gruyere for the nutty sweetness, but most places use american or cheddar) and the bread is done like french toast, usually even having a light dusting of powdered sugar over it. Very tasty, but hard to find now a days.

I'm with Krich, if I eat any of the turkey it's dark meat. But I do use thick cut appelwood smoked bacon on the breast too it does give it good flavor. I love the crispy skin but not a big fan of turkey in general that's why I eat all the other stuff. I also agree leftovers, turkey salid sandwiches & turkey soup are all great ways to use the bird.

I don't like the taste to be honest. I can tolerate the dry meat with some gravy or eat it with mashed potatoes and gravy
I like the flavor of both meats and those are good combinations for the breast meat...the bacon ideas sound good....and that sandwich.

I've heard that soaking turkey/chicken in a brine solution will prevent white meat from drying out and keep it juicy

I've heard that before....Anyone ever fry their turkey?

Brining your turkey is a must, and fried turkey is delicious. My uncle typically makes three different birds, one roast, one smoked, and one fried. All are delicious in their own ways. But my favorite is green bean casserole and scalloped corn. And I'm really surprised no one has mentioned any pie yet.
