So who still uses New Life Spectrum?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use NLS and Omega One. I prefer Omega One because there is virtually no waste unless they are so full they spit it out. NLS is good also but more of it is expelled through the gills when eating.

Pelletwise, I feed a combination of NLS 3mm Thera + A sinking pellets, 1mm sinking and 5mm & 7.5mm floating pellets in the morning and Hikari Carnivore Foodsticks and Hikari Massivore Delight in the evenings. For a long time the Jags wouldn't eat off the substrate but now they've both been trained to eat at the top or bottom...but def prefer surface feeding. All the others don't seem to care where the food is as long as they get their share. I have a 2 days on, 1 day off feeding schedule.

Balton~

I agree with the Surface Eating, Problem for me is in the 220, I have a 300 Gal Wet-Dry and my return pipe has some *****in current, so I go for sinkers, and they are now used to it.....The Parachromis had the hardest time adjusting to the sinkers, but when hungry enuff....

I feed my 10" Argentea mainly the NLS Large Fish sinking - mainly because it is by far his favorite pellet.

Good feedback all.

I use it exclusively now. A buddy turned me onto it about a year ago and I swear by the stuff. Zero bloat issues as well since using this. I use the Thera plus in all its sizes for all my rare CA's.

Had lot of pollution issues with NLS. Beleive it or not still have best luck with anything by TETRAMIN. Just like when I got into the hobby 38 years ago.
