LOL, well...he was right at 20 bucks...19.95 before tax. He is great fun to watch and always out on something, I'm so glad I got him!!!! Also thank you for the comment on the "creek bed" look, that is what I was going for!!

Well, Thank you!!!!!

No, not a parannah...that was my Pacu (2-Pac).

LMAO!!! Oh, Wurm.....leave it to you to give me a little TMI..

Thank you!!! My daughter thought I should name him "Dirt devil" LOL!!

THANKS!!!!!!

Yes, I LOVE his markings they are soooo cool!!!

OMG, my youngest (4yo) came running into me the other day...."Hoover is eating a baby frog" she is yelling! I'm like "WHAT"??? Wondering how on earth a baby frog had gotten into this tank, so I go in there and LMAO, there was no "baby frog" she saw his "whisker" type thing that hangs from their mouth on both ...she thought they were a baby frogs legs :ROFL:

Ok, after saying all that....I was wondering is there anything "special" I should be adding in the tank for him?? I give him blanched zucinni and he seems to REALLY like it...well, actually I through it in for my Pacu, but I noticed he devours it up...so I got to thinking, is there anything ya'll give yours that I should give mine???

A mix of meaty foods and vegetables. Theres no real need to blanch the zuc, it just removes nutrients from the food. Check out the pleco dietry sticky, it has lots of different food sources you can use... worms, prawn, butternut squash, mushroom, peas etc. etc.

Really...there is no need to blanch it? I thought you were suppose to blanch, veggies before adding them? Well, that sure makes things a bit easier! :D

Thank you I'll check it out!!!! :)

Something else....so it is fine to leave the seeds in too then? Usually when I blanch them, I remove the seeds so I don't need to do that?

Wow, they will eat fruit too...hmmm never thought about tossing fruit in there. I didn't see anything saying which types should NOT feed them (Veggies or fruit).

Thanks guys!!!!

Ummm, well personally I don't feed much fruit, maybe stuff like mango's, apples, kiwi, grapes etc. but I don't do it too often. I tend to stay away from the more acidic stuff. And yeah, if the food has been washed thoroughly, it's all good, but things like potatoes, I wash and soak them first to get rid of as much starch as possible. Don't take seeds or pips out either, whatevers still left over in the morning gets removed.

LOL! Yeah, I cut them into chunks, but leave the skin on, as they will eat that. You'll find they won't necessarily eat everything you put in, like people they can be particular about certain kinds, and then go crazy for one or two things.

Hmmm, well...he didn't much care for the apples, maybe I'll try a red one next. Today though he will be getting some romain lettuce...since I'll be making a salad for lunch I figure I'll said my lucnh with him..think he may like orange bell peppers?

He may do, he may not, like I said they have their own personal preferences. Have fun figuring what he likes and doesn't! I tend to feed at night time before lights out though. Also when you first put things in, they don't always associate it as food so be patient.

Nice common, lady G. I used to have 2 and they will eat anything at that size and grow so fast, ours even would eat flake food from the surface in between veggies
