He may do, he may not, like I said they have their own personal preferences. Have fun figuring what he likes and doesn't! I tend to feed at night time before lights out though. Also when you first put things in, they don't always associate it as food so be patient.

Yeah, so far he doesn't really eat when I first put stuff in (well, except for the scallops, shrimp and perch) as soon as any hits bottom, he is over suckin it up!!
He did munch on the romain...not at first but by the time I was done with lunch he had a piece. I didn't actually try the pepper though.

Nice common, lady G. I used to have 2 and they will eat anything at that size and grow so fast, ours even would eat flake food from the surface in between veggies
