What are some other oddballs and less-common PA-Natives I could do? I want stuff you don't see in your everyday Native tanks......
Coosae bass if you can find them lol. Pricks, and look like a mini-small mouth.

You could skip all the bigger cats and do all madtoms, I never see them in tanks really.

what size are you doing? Walleyes arent seen often, and real neat. I had a couple but they died in a tank crash with my yellow p[erch.

Yea, how big do they get and how did u get yours?? lol I only want to do a small set-up, very simple and basic....not set on size yet, but I have a nice hexagon tank I picked up 2nd-hand last month I like the madtom idea, cuz Bullheads CAN get big, but they grow sooooooo slooooow also.....but they are carnivorous too, so I want to try and keep predation to a minimum, hence the preference of smaller-mouthed Lepomis species. I wouldn't mind a Grass or Redfin pickerel, but IDK how big of a tank one will need as an adult - but I would do a just-pickerel tank for one if I had to choose between that and a multi-species tank. I have always wanted to keep something-Esox in a tank

I want a sucker or 2 but they are about as hard to keep alive as trout, IME

Perch never make it in captivity, right?

I got all my natives i ever purchased through JonahsAquarium.com great guys and have extremely healthy fish.

Madtoms would be awesome i think, a badass creek set up ya know? I'd feel bad keeping any of our native sunnies in a setup less than a 125 really. They don't get massive but I think thats probably a general minimum size. My bullheads have only ever eaten or killed minnows and darters haha, never attacked anything else.

Grass pickerel would do well in a 125, redfin i could see a 75 being ok for life, my redfin never broke 10 inches, grass made it to 12 in my 310 tank. Pickerels are honestly great with sunfish. I raised both my grass pickerel with pumpkinseeds and never had an issue.

suckers you'd be limited to redhorses I'd think...they are the smaller species from what i remember.

IS Kanoplex safe in food for puffers? I'm in an ongoing battle with wasting disease.
several gsp's have been residents at the shelter for 2 years and have stayed small, about 1", while others have reached full 6". I've treated with Gen cure, Paraguard, Paxi pro, and garlic in their food, but they still can't get well. yes, some are fue for dentistry. they get clams and oysters that they love to chew on.
