Are the ones in pet stores labeled "Fugu Puffers" are also Takifugu Puffers?

Those puffers are great, though ornery, fish. Yours does have an exceptionally attractive pattern. I imagine a pattern like that is 1 for every several thousand takifugu. He looks like he belongs in Alice in Wonderland! Or at the least a psychedelic trip :D

Aren't there several types of takifugu farm-raised in China? They certainly have started appearing more regularly on lists the last few years ...

they're actually more common than you think, maybe one out of every few hundred if that, with more or less psychadelic pattern on their backs.

I'm not sure that they're breeding them, but they do congregate by the thousands to breed and the babies and eggs once hatced are very abundant., so collection would be very easy. I wonder if they do breed any fugus...

Hey I remember that guy. Wow looks like hes doing good with you but we need tank shots.

he can't be in a tank, cuz he bites everything. he's in the sump with the japanese guy, keeping him in check. one false move and he'll become fugu sashimi
