i dont really understand why it would be illegal to keep game fish.. i mean if you're allowed to kill it and eat it whats the harm in keeping it alive in the state where you caught it? or bought it as the case may be.

I assume lawmakers dont want to encourage people to start putting our local fish in the aquarium trade. Don't see the real reasoning behind it though.

ur back east right? if so then you guys have an amazing selection of natives and semi-natives. i used to live over there (mostly maryland and north carolina but spent a bit of time in georgia)

i want to set up a tank mimicking the flats over there, a stocklist like:

Atlantic Stingray
3 Speckled Trout
Bluefish
Toungfish
Atlantic Needlefish
Grunts (a whole bunch)

and im sure theres more, but thats just what i can remember off the top of my head.

haha. i love the saltwater critters over there, maybe that shud be my next project.....Cape Hatteras Biotope haha

Cool tank, but most, if not all, CA fish are illegal to keep in an aquarium without the proper permits! Keeping Garibaldi will earn you jail time, as will any fish considered to be a game fish such as Sculpin, Calico Bass, or Sheepshead, as well as anything collected from a tidepool. No charge for the heads up!

Spencer, the OP is breaking down this tank. He's leaving the hobby due to his own stuff he needs to take care of. I remembered helping him get most the inhabitants for his tankmates. Very exciting as well as stressful hours of waiting for the perfect timings
