In school we had a 'Piranha' named Chomper who really was a pacu that was bought mislabeled as a piranah. He lived in a 5 gallon tank :irked: and was fed a sole diet of rosy-red minnows. To top that off the tank was totally bare with minimum filtration and when I tried to explain to the teacher that this was not a piranha they totally ignored me!!! The thing didn't even have teeth!! I felt horrible for the poor fish....

About a week ago the fish mysteriously disappeared along with the tank and if you think the 5gallon part was bad...here's worse...

Someone (a student) had apparently dumped DISH SOAP INTO THE TANK as a joke!!! Now the pacu is dead and he didn't even have a decent life...:( I wish I would have caught this sooner. Just goes to show how IRRISPONSIBLE some people are and I can't believe someone would actually poison the fish. :cry:

Wow I'm sorry about that! At least you cared about him :) I know that it doesn't make up for other people's stupidity.
 
FFS, ignorance is difficult to take in the hobby. Sorry to hear
 
In my school, this completely retarded science teacher has a 10 gallon. In it, she has like 12 jack dempseys that are like 2-3" and crappy hob filter on it, and a 2 inch layer of black muck in the gravel. And one more crazy thing to add to that, she puts her dead fish in her potted plants because she thinks its good for them. Well as a bio teacher, she should at least know that there aren't any decomposers in a pot of commercial soil!

people are soo dumb these days... poor fish. you should of went on a rescue mission and take the fish when it was alive :P
 
thats horrible! (the part about the poor fish) prolly shoulda done the rescue mission iloveoscars702 mentioned, replaced it with a plastic fish weighted down. its kinda sad when people think they know best and wont listen to any1 else, even if it leads to the suffering of a animal with no voice of its own.
p.s sorry about the rant :P it just makes me annoyed when i see the stupidity and pigheadedness of others
