yeah mudpuppies are like american giant axolotls sry for quoteing u davoMudpuppies are NA species and get to around 2 ft (dont quote me), these guys are from mexico and are much smaller (measured in inches). I believe in the wild axolotls are critically endangered? There are a few fully aquatic salamanders and looking it up, there are 3 species with the common name waterdog, Necturus alabamensis, Necturus beyeri and Necturus lewisi so it could be any of those you are using for bait also.
