more pictures please hahaha

Haha, I'm fattening them up now. Unfortunately even with weighted down lids 2 Teugelsi's still managed to knock it off, jump out of the tank, and die. One of them was my pick 15" female at that.

I really want to stick it out and try to keep them in an aquarium until the Bichir Bichirs pattern up, but I think I may have to put them in a pond. The bichir bichirs hit food hard and I'm afraid they'll damage themselves badly and the Teugelsi's are just too unpredictable.

sucks bro

Polypterus Teugelsi:

It was a pain in the a** getting these fish out of their tanks to take a photo in this tank and you can see that they took damage to the face.

Teugelsi is the one on top of the pile:

Polypterus "Tikinso Guinea" Lapradei

I usually like darker almost black colored predatory fish, and for some reason you just don't find that much in Bichirs. The "Tikinso Guinea" variation of the Lapradei answered my prayers. They range from a dark green to almost black base color.

The following pictures should give you a good idea how much their color can vary. This is an almost species only tank (there's one ansorgii in there with them):
