ya thats kinda what i meant ...i mean dont get me wrong i love digital photography but when i shoot film i think the process itself is different i take more time and take more factors into consideration whereas when i shoot digital ill take like the shot 20 times nd if somethings wrong just fix it later

Mostly sad imo but some good I guess. All them lost jobs wont be good that is for sure.

yes everyone who has a digital camera can shoot a good pic because they get about 200 pics to choose from.... but back then it really took skill .... :D and you had to wait and wait and to find out if it was a good shot

Television and newspapers have always been advertising mediums. Networks create shows to get big ratings so as to sell advertising space for more money. Newspapers are mostly ads. I don't use them and won't miss them.

Privacy is a big concern for me. Most of these inventions also bring along the ability to track everything you do, and I do mean everything. And in most instances, merely signing up for these services means you're giving permission for them to use your personal info to profit from, again usually in the form of advertising.

Good stuff. I worked in the newspaper industry for 10 years, before departure. I worked for the defunct Knight-Ridder Newspapers, Inc., the 2nd largest newspaper chain in the country. They were forced to sell their properties to Mclatchey Newspaper, Inc. The stock for Mclatchey hit a low of aprox. 50 cents a share, at one point. It's sad, but people don't read the newspaper.
i think it is sad about the newspaper ... but i am quilty too.. the pc will give you all the info you want including pictures so you don't even have to read as much... I don't want the paper to leave though...i enjoy scanning it with my coffee in the am and reading local stuff, makes it even better.

We need the postal service. Competition is good. We do not want to allow Fedex, UPS, ect . . . to monopolize the shipping industry. We also need newspapers, which were created to be watchdogs for society. Imagine a world where the public and private sectors can just do whatever they wish without any fear of exposure.

but it's not a competition. UPS and Fedex has to answer to shareholders. who do USPS answer to? nobody. theyre a big expensive department with tons of overhead. theyve been operating at a loss for years, yet their still in business. how is that fair competition? any other company would have sank, yet the post office continues to run while taking huge hits. had UPS or Fedex sustained the losses that USPS has, they would have been gone a long time ago.

Same deal with Canada Post. They're actually protected by the gov't to ensure they stay in business. :irked:
