It doesnt even open it mouth when i pick it up. so i was wondering if that was something they did when young.You know look as much like "wood" as possible. or if it really is just mellow.
I rescued a common snapper that got hit by a mower once. It wasn't an adult and it's shell lenghth was about 10 inches maybe less. It was very laid back for a snapper and never tried to bite me, even when I held it out of it's tank. When it got better I kept it outdoors in a small 300 gallon pond for about a month. One day I went to check on it and it was gone! It's a shame because it was a really nice turtle.
