Oh Yeah totally, but what i mean is I think mine is even mellow for a gator.
It doesnt even open it mouth when i pick it up. so i was wondering if that was something they did when young. You know look as much like "wood" as possible. or if it really is just mellow.

I rescued a common snapper that got hit by a mower once. It wasn't an adult and it's shell lenghth was about 10 inches maybe less. It was very laid back for a snapper and never tried to bite me, even when I held it out of it's tank. When it got better I kept it outdoors in a small 300 gallon pond for about a month. One day I went to check on it and it was gone! It's a shame because it was a really nice turtle.

There are no two equal snapping turtles. My gator is mellow, eats anything, dead or alive ( they all do, in fact ), and yes it opens its mouth when picked up and would def bite.

My 3 snappers are all different. The smallest is the meanest. The bigest is the mellowest. Lives in a pond with other turtles who rob its food out of its mouth, literally.

Common snappers will eat anything, pellets, dried shrimp, fish, flesh, mice ( you name it )

Gator as said is also very easy on feeding.

Chiappa giant musk, softshells, new guinea snapper, they all eat whatever I feed them.

Most problematic are the matamatas. Thank God the big one eats dead fish. The two baies only eat live...

I put pellots in the feeding tank (i try to feed it nonfish outside of his tank.) but it doesnt take any intrest in them, nor in frozen food. Only live gambusia, and worms. do you know of any way i can get it to eat pellots or nonlive?

I would not force on the pellets.

as to dead fish, give her a week without food, then get fw fish ( i give trout, salmon or nile perch ) cut it in a thin slice and with a tweezer make it "swim" in front of her nose...you'll get there.

Alright. I will try it.
I let you know if i get any progress.

Have you got a photo of your PNG Snapper. I have a young one about 5" that lives with my Kinosternum. He eats reptomin and prawns
