As some of you may know i lost my biggest oldest fish yesterday due to my own stupidity and i wasnt very happy. Today, my girlfriend surprised me with a new cat, and i think its a pictus but i wanna be a hundred percent sure. Also, how could i introduce this fish to my other channel cat? My channel is about 8 in and this cat is 3in so the size diff worries me. If needed i will grow it out in a smaller tank and then introduce them. Heres a pic of the new cat :)

idk. almost looks like a vampire cat to me.
but dont quote me on that, i sense basslover is close, da da DA!!

Sorry to hear about your channel, it always sucks losing a fish.

Definitely a 4line Pim
Same family as the pictus, but they get bigger, and they don't have spots like a pictus (some have molted looking spots like mine, others are just that pretty chorme with the lines) They are very slow growing, so it will never catch up to your channel.
I would try putting it in the tank when you have an hour or two too keep an eye on them. I havn't had issues with mine and I've had it in with both my channel and my rtc and hybrid... If the channel seems bothered by it I would keep the 4line in a different tank if you have it.
They are nice fish to have, I feed mine sinking hikari cichlid pellets and bloodworms. Heres a pic of mine, its about 5-6"
