Somebody please ID this. Pictus maybe?

can you get a slightly clearer pic, cause i kinda disagree with the blochii id. The striping looks like a different cat to me. so a clearer pic would help

this is all i got.

It's some type of Pim. I forgot the scientific name, but I think the common name is also 4-Line Cat

yea, i looked up the 4 line pim and its identical. Thanks for the help guys. But, my girlfriend asked the guy for a pictus cat and she didnt know any better. Either way, im still happy and shes still awesome for surprising me with a fish.

4 line is a great cat for an aquarium. mine is always going and has been liking to tail my new 24" channel. before the channel was in there it would school with my oscars and pacu. mine is holding steady at about 12"

mine is a massive 3 inches :) i hope he can move to the channel tank soon though.

Sorry to hear about your channel, it always sucks losing a fish.

Definitely a 4line Pim
Same family as the pictus, but they get bigger, and they don't have spots like a pictus (some have molted looking spots like mine, others are just that pretty chorme with the lines) They are very slow growing, so it will never catch up to your channel.
I would try putting it in the tank when you have an hour or two too keep an eye on them. I havn't had issues with mine and I've had it in with both my channel and my rtc and hybrid... If the channel seems bothered by it I would keep the 4line in a different tank if you have it.
They are nice fish to have, I feed mine sinking hikari cichlid pellets and bloodworms. Heres a pic of mine, its about 5-6"
With all due respect,i have found 4-lines to be very fast growers, big appetite and always moving,i had 1 that reached at least 10" in about 7 monthes, they also can take care of themselves quite well.I am no expert but this is just my own experience.
