congradulations... looking forward to seeing him.

Whew! Just got his quarantine set up!

This involved a trip to the LFS and stripping one of my eheims off my big tank to set up his. Spent 4 hours acclimating him out of his styrofoam box, which I put a heater and little diy bubbler in eventually. Unfortunately I can't get a really good pic of him as his tub is opaque, but I got some ripply-water above head shots.

Obviously stress colored--but I put some fake floating plant things in there so it wouldn't just be him and filters and pvc.

The PVC pipes house 2 small heaters--I didn't want him getting burned or the plastic tub melting on them.

This 30X16'' tub includes 1 eheim classic 350, a sponge filter, a small internal filter with a sponge and some pre-seasoned ceramic rings from my other tank, 2 small filters, and some cheap fake floaty-plants. Everything's been running already so it's all already biologically active, and 100% of the water came from my large tank. Small light sitting on top so he's not in the dark during the day.

All in all, very pleased with the results of this chore.

very nice, I can tell just from these pics he looks great. Did he come from Jojo?

Yeah, he came super healthy looking and very well shipped from Jojo at Ichiban Asia Tropical! Much props. He cut me a deal on the shipping, as this package was 28 lbs!

Here are 2 pics of the patterning on this guy when he pushed up against the side of the tub (one I accidentally hit him with the flash but he'll survive I suspect):

Should I like, wait till tomorrow to try feeding him? I kind of wanna do it now, haha.

wow beast, my Fahaka is only 4" lol

That's about as big as my Fahaka, too. I wish I could put them in the same tank, even if for just a moment, to get a pic of the two next to each other. Would be hilarious. But not possible.

All I can think about at work is how I wanna just go home and stare at it for hours!
