Something is wrong with my flower

He ate last night after i separated him. I installed a divider that i can put in during feeding time. I am afraid by dividing him constantly as it wont give him much swimming room. Plus the hystrix are pretty gentle and i dont think are bothering him... But after i divided he ate 1 nightcrawler and a bit of smelt.
I am learning why he is skinny, he will have these seizures several times a day, and will not eat during them. Afterward he is hungry and searching for food. But eats slow like a pup would eat. I think he was having these attacks sometimes while i was feeding so he has been losing several meals a week.
I would move him to another tank, but i am afraid moving him could make things worse.. Plus this tank is on a drip and loaded with plants so water conditions are more stable and in perfect shape.
If i can collect a sample i will run it under a microscope asap. but i will be lucky to get my hands on one.
My goal is while he is eating to get him pumped up again (his tail is still VERY thick) and see if this goes away as shadowstryders did.

Have you noticed is the ray has passed any waste? If it does, would there be any way to know that it indeed came from that particular ray?

Perhaps contacting a veterinarian who specializes in fish would be best. I understand that might be expensive but you are obviously a dedicated ray keeper. I can only imagine how stressful this is for you. I hope your ray starts to improve. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
do these spiracles look normal??? Flowers are so different shape different shape spiracles, but it seems to look different around spiracles than i remember.
oh and last night after i slipped in the divider i fed and he ate at least 1 night crawler and some pellets. But as he was having the spasms he could care less about food... but the minute it is over he pounces like a cat! But does seem to eat slower.
