Hello; There are indeed a few dangerous native species here in the southeastern USA........
There are also poisonous snakes here. A rattler slithered inside my home once when I left the door open while unloading groceries, but I got it immediately.

I don't know anything about non-native snakes, except what I see on tv ;-)

The owner of the ball python should be punished if they already haven't been punished. People like that shouldn't be allowed to keep reptiles as they give the hobby a bad name.

No, there are not. There are venomous snakes, and there are non-venomous snakes; there are no poisonous snakes.

Sorry, I just hate it when people use that incorrect terminology. :)

The difference being one emits poison by choice, the other by default?

lol, the difference being one emits venom (not poison, venom), the others don't emit anything. poison is absorbed through the skin or ingestion....venom must be injected. why does it make a difference...well you can touch a venomous snake but wouldn't be able to touch a poisonous one

LOL. whoa! hoity-toity snake experts Unite ;-)
Uhhhh.. they bite, things die.
I see first, they die.
If it is an insult to them being called poisonous, my glee can go up a notch during the kill! :D

rattler tastes like a cross between shark & metallic chicken, but they're flakey, like fish.
