Short shorts the proper ones is not butt hanging out... so you should clarify that your term for short shorts would be butt half hanging out... Your definition of short shorts is something more sexual, erotic then just plain shorts that are short... So maybe say "Shorts that are way to short to cover you up without letting your butt almost hang out" is a better way to say what you disagree with.

In most cases with young teens they are rolled up (or cut up) almost right to the butt. IMO That is trashy, everyone has a different level of trashy and what they will allow/tolerate. Can you were them to School? No ! There is a reason. Call me an OLD fart, I could care less, old rule of thumb..Hands to your side and if its past your finger tips ITS TO SHORT.
Recently I was at a BBQ at a friends house and their 12yr old niece was over as well. She was wearing shorts so short that the pockets were hanging out the bottom and had to keep adjusting so her underwear wasn't showing. When asked about it she claimed that she wore them to school all the time and that it was hard to find longer ones in her size. My wife has been *****ing up a storm lately as well because she can find any shorts that she's willing to wear in public. Part of the problem lies with the designers and retailers for making that style one of the only ones available.
I'm not calling you an "old fart" and I'm sorry if you think or thought that. I just wanted to make sure your impression of short shorts vs too small in your size shorts were different.. Yes I agree shorts that a girl would wear that are a size or so too small and are half a finger in length would be what we are calling it trashy.

I don't have kids right now but I would have no problem with my daughter wanting to wear the first 2 links... but the last link NO because not the right size. Short shorts are not bad, shorts that are too small for your size is.

I know personally I feel grounding/restriction is the worst. You take a angry kid or kid who did something wrong and say. GO plunder this and stew over this as you are banished in your room just breeds hate and anger. The goal of spanking is to point out what was wrong. Show that discipline is a result and then show you love them. If you discipline/spank your child right (not out of anger) ypu r child should come out if the situation even smiling at moments because they know you love them and they are being disciplined out if love. Not always easy tho
so a young child is supposed to realize that your hitting them out of love? even if you explain it to them it still seems like that's sending mixed signals. To me if you spank your kid then your just frustrated and can't figure out a better way to discipline them, but just my opinion.
