These guys are the 'vieja criolla' variant. I have no other tangible information about them but I've seen enough of them to know that they are a helluva nice strain.
One thing about cubans that vexes me is when Cuban males turn black. When I got this male he was 80% white. As soon as he and the female started spawning he turned black. Only now is he starting to lighten up a tiny bit.
I'm starting to think that its my water because for as long as I've been keeping cubans, not one of my males has retained that mosaic pattern and high white coloration.

Its not your water bud, its his breeding dress. most all the males i had would get that black camo during spawning or while paired. and it would come and go with moods. very nice looking cubans btw;) ill have to do them again down the road, dont think i can get away from them

Just a few picks of my new male Cuban picked up from Umbeeking a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks Jason, much appreciated. I don't have a female yet but would like to get one down the road.

Here's a picture of my little girl. She is a very confident and boisterous Cuban and is definitely one of my favorites!
