Sport Bikes (GSXR 1000)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
michael- that thing is SICK! My buddy picked one of those up and spanked me all summer. Very quick.

Thanks. Yeah i love it and dont think anybody is going to touch it in 2006 either in the litre bike class. New zx10 is getting bad reviews so far!

"I max my 600 out in speed every time I ride it. I wish I had gotten a 1000 and didnt listen to all the idiots when they say "get a 600 you will kill yourself!".."

Do you realize you contradict yourself? If there is little difference between the two why are you telling him to go for the liter? If you are "maxing" out your 600 wouldn't you "max out" the liter?

BTW: nice going with the wheelie on the public street.

I could get more top end with a 1000. 160 on the freeway is not fast enough. 180 would get dull after the first few times, though. I need a turbo'ed 1000.

yea, wheelies are best done on public streets. especially in the metropolitian.

Wow peacock so you mastered the 600 in a few months. You should be on th etrack with Rossi. You are a meathead. Liters have alot more torque and are alot less forgiving. Morons who buy big bikes as their first drive up everyones insurance premiums.

Alot less forgiving? Define this? No bike is "less forgiving" than another. You are mistaken and falling for a general "myth".

Also, when I say max out, I mean max out my speed. I push the bike to its acceleration and top speed limits. Although I can drag knee, I have not "mastered" a sports bike. Rossi has said himself, he cannot ride any of the newer bikes to their full potential. What he means by this, is their cornering ability. Not speed. I was suggesting speed, not maneuverability.

I hope your license gets yanked.

BTW: liter bikes have alot more torque lower in the rpm range which means alot less forgiving in the turns. AS IN THE REAR TIRE BREAKING LOOSE.

and most should learn to really ride there 600's and then you will see that a 600 is all that is neede on the street ... example below of being able to really ride.. obviously these pic's are'nt me , if they were I would not be wasting my time on this site.... :D

incorrect. Maybe on a twisty, but when you are on the freeway, a 1000 is required. I can typically crush 1000 riders (keyword = riders) on twisties. But their power and higher top speed takes me on the freeways.

I guess it boils down to, what do you want to accomplish. Do you want to park your bike and stand around it looking cool? Do you just want to go out and cruise the roads? or do you want to turn the public transportation system into your personal race track/stunt show ?

I perfure the later.

;)

here are some track pics of me. Unfortunatly the photographer blew and some how managed to be to late in shotting the pictures.

you will experience this with 600s aswell. Learn your facts.

also, My license is yanked. still doesnt stop me from riding. ;)

the freeway is my playground, the twisties are my race track.

License yanked... :clap

You are the last person I'd ever want riding advice from. Hopefully you'll have another meeting with the boys in blue real soon. :)

they tried last thursday. If I dont see a chopper, im not stopping.

also, I dont usually give "advice", I simply spew out logic and correct information.

sounds like a little disagreement. i really just want a bike to ride. i dont need a 10sec . bike. i was reading a little about the gsx-r 1000. 2006, 158 h.p and only 365lbs wow. that is too much power for a newbie like myself. thanks for all the replies. now i have to go to work and i dont yet have a bike to ride, damn it... ive been looking around alot latley. ill spend up to $4ooo or so. with that i should definatly be able to get something decent.
