Sport Bikes (GSXR 1000)

Too bad we can't use stop strips on bikes. Now that would be funny.

sounds like a little disagreement. i really just want a bike to ride. i dont need a 10sec . bike. i was reading a little about the gsx-r 1000. 2006, 158 h.p and only 365lbs wow. that is too much power for a newbie like myself. thanks for all the replies. now i have to go to work and i dont yet have a bike to ride, damn it... ive been looking around alot latley. ill spend up to $4ooo or so. with that i should definatly be able to get something decent.

Sorry the thread came a little off topic. I have to deal with goons like Peacock all the time. Anyways, 4k will get you a nice 6. A '01-'02 ZX6R would be a great bike in that price range. Not to mention a good rider can make that a 11 second bike. Good luck.

i was looking at a cycle mag at the road tests. the 06 GSX-R 600 runs a 10.7 . i would say thats pretty quick. of cource im not getting an 06, but thats a little faster than i thought a 600 was capable of going. BTW the 1000 is around 9.7. only 8 lbs heavier than the 600. now i would say thats a rocket on wheels. i couldnt resist stopping by the honda/ suzuki/kawasaki shop. man i was in heaven. bikes are soooo affordable compared to cars that i almost had to stop myself from getting an 06 gixer. the 600 is under 9000. seems cheap considering your faster than a $ 300000 sports car. CANT WAIT TO GET A BIKE!!!!!!!!!!

I see your point and understand fully ,if you were on a 1000 and I was on a 600 you would smoke me on a straight, but I mite out brake you and carry more speed in to and through the corner you follow me...

4k will get you a fantastic older (00-03) bike to learn on and ride around.
