SRT should i get it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, now this is good stuff! Raising your voice up on your OWN taste/opinions about each fish, this is why forums exist.

I've had several SRTs from young upto 11" in length and I can see their potential when they grow. SRTs usually pop their head and colors really bloom once they pass 8" mark. Not many people are aware of that, since they may not kept any before fully to an adulthood.

And this is how I think:

i like Blue stars most to be honest, it has the nicest red out of all of the ones posted in this thread, but it really does depend on what you are looking for, if you want the best color, nuchal hump, or body shape, i personally go for color because i personally think good color is what makes a show fish, but i really dont care about the whole "quality" BS.

JP, the ones you posted arent all that much nicer if at all then Bluestars...

just my opinion but here are my ratings:

Blue Stars: Great Color, Great Pearling, Good Body Shape, and cant really tell how the fins go together in that angle of pic, and a decently short face, but does lack pearling on snout and forehead
(See the previous posts of this fish, it was just plain not that great of a SRT and now just starting to bloom, I can see the nice the fish has, but I just expect/like more on rainny's SRT)

#1 on JP's list: Decent Color, Lots of pearling, but lacks pearls on the snout, Thin long body, not great fins, long pointed down sout.
(I got nothing to say about this one, I don't like it lol)

#2 on JP's list: Lacks the Red, very un-even pearling, nice body, nice fins, nice head shape. (Body shape is second to none, already has good size head and from my previous SRT keeping, Reds will be coming for sure with this one!)

#3 on JP's list: Nice Color (though it looks like a color enhancing light bulb is on the tank, power glo to be exact), thin long body, cant really tell the fins when they are all down.
(I know the color will be REALLY nice once it hits 8" mark and head will pop for sure)

and the other fact that Blue Stars will be about half the price when you include shipping on the ones from rainnybetta.

id go with bluestars in a heart beat over rainny's, dont get me wrong, they are all nice and all have potential, but if i were to go with one id get bluestars.

I will post some pics of my own previous SRT and others SRT being well......pretty dull in color but with nice body shape turning into a true beauty later on tonight.

JP, you are such a drama queen. For real. Stop acting like you know everything guy. It's only your opinion about things. Someone says something and you'll type a whole essay always trying to win a point.

As for the fish of the question. If you like it then yeah, it's a good deal. It's a nice fish.

And you aren't?
Question for you............ How is the first post I posted considers as causing drama?

no, I wouldn't personally.

If I was to get one, I'd pick from these 3:

http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...orn&1229329802
http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...orn&1229330401
(this one is my choice)

That's all I said?:(

While I think he's trying to persuade/give his opinion/make people see his point I don't think it's bad for him to type so much info. Just means more people learn more or at the very least take into account another opinion. You are right it's all in what you like. That doesn't mean every FH is equal quality or that we shouldn't discuss what is bad/good about each.

I understand BlueStar/JP have an issue to work out or that needed brought up.

I would like all to stay on topic of SRT's though and which is more desirable.

I think he's explaining he has experiance with this strain and so it might put some backing behind his choices..

it is, but thanks to JP (not being condescending or anything), i might get hooked up w/ one of those on aquabid for an equally fair price.

in the end, its what i like and how much i'm willing to spend.
