I only have one ray right now. I want to get some more for sure.
I am going to put stainless steel eyelets in the grout lines of the back walls so I can hang a bunch of driftwood in the back corner. I want to have shelter for my fish but I don't want to take away any floor space
there will be 3 different products sealing the glass do to the tile methods that will be used. epoxy grout will be one of them as well as a thinset used with a very inovative shlutter product. then some nice silicon.
I finally moved one of the two plugs that would have been behind the pond. I think I would have violated code if I left it. I really have no clue what the code is though. I could ask a friend.
I added a light switch to the plug outlet and also installed two out of the four 3 inch pot lights. I can take the lights out and change them through the back. I am sure some one would ask me how I was going to change the bulbs. The nice thing is they are a little brighter than I thought they would be. I still have to add the junction box that will house the wires. I can't leave them hanging like that.
most of the other finishing work will not show up clearly in the pics, but if you look hard enough, you will be able to see it.
I am going to be limited until I get some of the plumbing supplies. I ordered 3" and 2" bulkheads, unions, and ball valves this week.
there is a waterproof liner that is made by shlutter. it is nice and orange. You apply it using a waterproof thinset. then I will use a thin set with some enamal added to it and fake marble will be put on top. it is cultured from rona. epoxy grout will be the final waterproofing. I will also use detra mat on the floor. this will allow the floor to flex without cracking the tile.
you should wait to see if my basement fills with water before you get jealous. my wife will tan my hide if this thing leaks, but then again if it leaks I can join you in hell, because my wife will give me a one way ticket....
well today we had this big rain storm. I went down stairs to look at my pond and noticed that the basement was flooded. I was totally unprepaired for this. The window people had disconnected the drain pipe while working on the window. it is not like I did not know this, but we have never had a problem with flooding. The window well filled up with water and the water came through the window and onto the floor. Now I have to move the pond and make sure no water is left under it. other than that no dmg was caused... Sigh...
