Starting a 20 gallon this saturday ADViCE AND TIPS WELCOMED

when the water level lowers just add regular water? should i check the sg level before i do so? any tips on water changes/topping off water?

add treated tap water, or better yet, RO/DI water.

as for water changes either buy premixed water or make some a day in advance, i like usung a small powerhead and a heater when i mix mine...

i mix water in another bucket with the same sg and add it to the tank(heater/powerhead thanks for tip)?

still no filter or powerhead in the mail yet...i stirred the tank for a while myself..wiped off water that evaporated..i tested the ph and the ammonia, is there 0 ammonia?

i am starting the cycle when i get my filter and powerhead
any tips advice? about water conditions etc? tests?
is everything looking good?

on my tank that's what i call 0, i have the same crappy API test the pH is about 8.0
i am starting the cycle when i get my filter and powerhead

thanks i was thinking about just a clown fish and this turbo snail i hear about

should be good. You will want to wait until cycle is done, and then add the snail. Wait another week to make sure theres no off balance in levels then add the clown. Be sure to buy the healthiest clown possible, as I'm guessing you don't have a QT tank??
