looks like redbugs, got em in my 10 gal.. pipe eats em.. seen no harm so far...

the scum at the surface is from still water, adding a filter or powerhead (better yet a small skimmer) will clear this right up

but isn't he JUST getting the one clown, or did i miss something?

Makes no odds to me whether its just one fish or 10 fish....

What happens when the one fish you buy has parasites, and you put it straight into the display tank...This now infests the display tank......The fish you have just brought dies from the parasite....you buy another fish to replace it with, which is parasite free.....you put the fish into a parasite infested display tank and said fish gets infected....oh, and then possibly dies from said infection...

All you will of achieved there is to waste money and needlessly kill fish....

QT is a must if you want success in this hobby....

Just my opinion of course :)

are pipe fish easy to maintain and get along with clown fish? the parasites are white i dont see any red on em.. they are really tiny

Do a google image search on copepods or isopods or amphipods....see if any of them match up with what you see....

water quality wise, yes for the most part..

but they have tiny mouths and need small food at regular intervals... unless you had a well maintained reef tnak with a lot of LR and well establishes cope/amphipod population i dont think you could keep the two together...
