Nice looking tank, although it looks like its going to ba pain the backside to clean the bottom of the tank once its installed??? or is there an easy way of doing it where you don't have to physically jump in to clean???

They do make 4' pythons, or I may build something myself, and I'll be getting a big magfloat for all the sides, and still probably an algae scrubber with a long handle for the back wall.

I'm sure I'll have some pictures swimming in it, just hopefully not for cleaning...

Finished cleaning the tank today minus the overflow, and have had to start storing some of the materials for the tank inside to save space until I get a stand together.

After considerable more looking, I am checking into some of the industrial duty pallet racks. If McMaster has a 3' tall upright, I may well go with this, about $250. Would really like to do a custom metal stand for this is anyone knows someone in PA who does this, or what would you suggest to be the easiest METAL stand solution?

i would do a wood stand. rafter style for the top (prob 2x8's), and lots of legs... all the wood and a box of screws... prob about $150

heres my stand built w all 2x6's http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104977

I found out that the industrial pallet racks cannot be supplied in such a low height (36"), so I went ahead with the Unistrut frame (~$200) since I have some of the parts I can get from my job. Doing a very simple frame, but should be easily able to hold at least twice what the tank will weight and also give a lot of open space underneath the tank. Hopefully the bulkhead nuts will not interfere with the frame, but I have a simple modification in mind if they do.

Since I ordered everything tonight, I expect to have it tomorrow and will get frame assembled over the weekend, and put a plywood sheet and Styrofoam padding on top. I will also go ahead with making the bottom shelf, since it will not be easy to get in once the frame is assembled. I will not skin it because I will be putting this as a built in in a couple of years. I also decided to pay a little extra to do it in black as opposed to the standard green and will have to spray paint a couple of the connectors that they wanted way more for in black than green.

This also means I need to buy some suction cup lifters so I can get the stand assembled, and tank on top before by inlaws visit in about 1.5 weeks. Hopefully I can get everything assembled and in place by late Sunday.

The material arrived today, so I have all the beams cut, filed and ready to assemble. It has been raining all day, so I wasn't able to spray paint the connectors, so hopefully I can do that tomorrow. Right now, my stand is a pile of steel in my hallway...

Also ordered 6 suction cup lifters to help get the tank on top of the 3' tall stand. I'm hoping those arrive before the end of the week, but right now it looks like I will be planning the tank move probably on Tuesday.

Tonight I got the connectors painted and everything that I had prepped is now together. I still need to put in 4 more cross bars for stability, really crank everything tight and put the plywood/styrofoam top on. I will get the cross bars on tomorrow night and probably the plywood on Saturday.

My wife is starting to get annoyed with the area where the fish tank is, because I have the stand on its side blocking our computer desk. Once the tank is on the stand everything will get put away, a 500 gallon tank, a 90 gallon water tank and stand all taking floor space is pretty funny looking...enjoy. The cats think it is a new cat tower...nice comparison to my wife's 5 gallon tank too :naughty:
