Hi Guys,

I have been reading through these threads and other resources to get info on Discus keeping. I have setup my tank and my fish are in quarantine at the LFS the owner is the breeder. Before I pick them up I just wanted to post my info and get some feedback on any oversights I might have made or better ideas more experienced people might have. Here is all the info for the setup:

75G 4ft. tank.
75G Canister Filter x1
75G HO Filter x2
Sponge Filter x1
UV Sterilizer x2
Hydor Koralia(the smallest one)
Heavily planted, 3 nice pieces of driftwood and random small rocks
Silica sand substrate
Rummy-Noses x12(I already have them)
Cardinal Tetras x12(I already have them)
Blue Ram Pairs x2(I already have them)

I now plan on adding 2 Tangerine dream discus and 2 Blue Diamond discus. I haven't added any algea eaters as the tank never grows any algae. Should I be adding one anyway and supplementing food? I have been keeping the water at 83 deg. to acclimate the other fish to the temp. I also found out what the breeder is feeding the discus and have puchased plenty of food. I have invested in a long hose and small pump, to do the extra water changes and my tapwater is the same water the LFS has. I am not new to keeping tropical fish but am new to discus keeping.:feedback:

If you have been reading up on discus, then you should know to only place adults in a planted tank, no juvies. Good luck!

The discus are locally bred, I am lucky enough to have a LFS where the owner is a breeder and all around good guy. I also get great deals because I build, sell and fix computers for him. I have some not great quality pics of the current setup. I will post new pics after I get the discus home and settled in(probably also not so great quality). However my sister-in-law is a pro. So when she comes to visit, in a few weeks time, I plan to have her take some quality shots for me. I have only been in the hobby for about a year and this is my first try with discus...needless to say I am excited. On an unrelated note, I have found MKFers to be a great source of knowledge and this site is awesome. Thanks to everyone who has posted(this thread and others) and all the wishes of good luck. Here are some low grade shots of the current setup...
