Stealth Pro Heater Recall!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just received the same email (already posted above) from Foster and Smith. I'm going to stop by Petsmart on the way home. Hoping they will replace all of my Stealths as well as the Stealth Pro 300 I bought about 20 days ago.

I have already replaced 2 of the original Stealths (a 250 that was a bit hot, and a 150 that cracked). The 150 shocked me so bad that I woke up on the floor. I was lucky as the breaker kicked off. I had always assumed the crack was like that when I bought it (I bought a number of stealths from an ex breeder). Now I'm beginning to think it was just a crap heater.

The other 8 stealths I use have been great...but I'm not about to take anymore chances.

Just returned my 2 stealth pro 200w heaters to petsmart and picked 2 fluval m series 300w heaters. So they gave me 42.99 credit for each of my stealth heaters which was the price of the fluval heaters. I couldn't find much info on the fluval heaters. Any one have any experience with them?

I personally have not tried them but found this info:

Sad thing is that petsmart doesnt sell any good heaters. I have 3 stealths i need to return but i have no idea what to do with the credit because im definately not buying any heaters from there.

they don't sell Eheim Jagers?

None of the petsmarts here sell them. Online they sell only the 100 watt. I asked if i could use the credit online but unfortunately it is for the store only.

the petsmart by me doesnt, and those heaters are junk anyways IMO

Why do you feel they are junk? What heaters do you prefer?
