I think I went three days with the wound open the doctors had packed it full of gauze which didnt feel great having them jam it in there. Then I think the end of the week I had the stiches done. I think my arm was out of service for two-three weeks. Had to be in a sling and everything. The barb punched a huge hole right through the muscle so any movement in my wrist or anything killed. I couldn't imgaine attempting to lift weights. Also lost function in my pinky and ring finger due to the barb catching the tendons that control them. Luckily it was minor but took 6-8 months for full range of motion.
I must be very lucky, the one I stepped on may have been a juvie, because mine was just a flesh wound.
