Still confused about Royals - specifically Xingu

Picked up the smaller of the Jamanxims today. It's 4"-5".

That's a great looking fish!

I starting to think the Jamanxim I just picked up may have an internal parasite. It left white/clear stringy feces in the bag on it's way home. Have not seen it eat yet, while the new Xingu has. Will keep an eye on it for the next few days, perhaps it just needs to settle in a bit more.

If treating for internal parasites with these guy, is Levamisole the way to go?

I wouldn't worry about it too much yet, I think it could be stress. My tank is plain, not set up for show tank, plenty of driftwood and wavemaker for better water agitation.

maybe you could add more driftwoods. I wouldn't treat him just yet...

I've got a lot of wood in there currently. I do have some that I pulled out a couple of months ago that I could put back in. I'll keep an eye on him for now and see how things look...

After having both of these new royals for a week, the Xingu "shuffles" against my Araguaia for the preferred spots in the wood, comes out to eat and is all over the tank when the lights go out. The Jamanxim, from what I've seen has been staying in one spot on the back of the glass just sitting in front of a power head. Haven't seen it venture out much and haven't seen it eat yet.
Should I give it another week to see if it just needs more time to settle or should I be treating?

I’ll answer the blue eye question - mine is an extremely aggressive fish and is the 2nd most aggressive Pleco I have owned. L234 is the most aggressive which would latch on to free swimming fish.

That being said the blue eye is aggressive and there will be fighting. In general, if your tank is big enough an armistice will occur but it could be after a lot of fighting and can result in another Pleco not doing so well along the way ( even death if the blue eye is the bigger fish and the tank does not provide separate territory.

What size tank do you have your luteus and blue eye together and is there other pleco in there?

They are in a 210 with an L600, an L25 and a few L333s. There are a few tinfoil, a sexfasciatis and red Geos in the tank.
