Stingray addict w/o hope must build bigger

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
C CODISCUS is a guy to try he is from Michigan but will ship to your closest air port I am would expect
Awesome, I'll pm him when everything would be set up..need to find a company that has reasonable prices. Lfs wants $4200 for a 8' x 4' x 18" which is quite a lot..might have to go the glass route for 7' x 3-4' x 18" or diy plywood bottom, would make a nice project

Butt in gear or other life distractions or needs always slows progress. Many (won't say names) have taken very long on their projects and it's just because or all that stuff or funds. It's never easy and a lot of commitment

I have the glas to make a 450g 6x5 foot print and a 270g 6x3 foot print as well as a 180 and 125 wide for breading rays just have to get my butt in gear and do it

I would recommend trying to stay in the taller tank end. At least 24 tall. Just better for the rays as they get bigger and they will.

Thanks for the tips.. Family might move soon so I could always upgrade, but I will look into the 2' height

Thanks

Progress is moving forward. I decided after laying out the pond being 8x12 I decided to go bigger. Was just not feeling it and I had a little extra room to push it out further. So the pond is 12x10. Had to get three drills going to make the process a little faster. Took way longer than you would think to measure drill then counter sink and then finally screw it together. Getting it all shimmed and level also was a bigger task than I thought. But my basement floor is not pefectly level and also was broken up and repoured for a drain system at one end so that changed the slab. I feel I got it well though.

Looking good so far

Here is the home made cheap poor man's table saw but it works very well. Gets the job done and as long as you measure 5 times and cut ones it's always perfect. Trying to clear out a little of the garage but it's slow going when you empty out the basement that had so much in it.
I'll get the last plywood screwed down and then on to the stackes 2x4 walls and getting it all setup and looking huge fast.

Forgot to say the storage bin is three feet long to give an idea of size.

lookin good bro. Good call on switching the footprint. It seems like one of those things you will have regretted not doing, down the road.
