Stingray addict w/o hope must build bigger

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Justin David Justin David correct with the 29 gallon. What 2x4s?

29 gallon. Also, those 2 2x4's seem flimsy for a 6 hundo, I'd add more, or swap em for 4x4's. Just my opinion

Funny, the tank is so big that I also thought those were 2x4s. Great looking build, goodluck getting the rest finished

This is incredible!!! So over head sump I presume. Underneath that 600g tank will be area you can't see?

Nope the 600 gallon tank above is just more stingray space. Filtration will be through the wall and in the next room. I have two big bead filters at the moment for the start. And ya I won't be able to see from above which is plenty fine by me. I'll have the window to look through and be able to see under the tank. I don't have tons of space like many and this pond is already taking up a whole room but I wanted even more space for the rays so this was my best idea to get the most space possible in the same amount of space.

It is hard to tell size of things from the pics. I understand exactly what you mean.

Have you looked into the load bearing capacity of the floor underneath this beast?

This is in my basement on a cement slab. I have not looked into it with anyone other than my dad. We think it should be just fine. Its a thick slab and after years of the 600 sitting in one spot i see no movement. Best part of a big setup like this is that the weight is spread out over a huge area vs a really tall tank would be much different. I think it will be fine and I guess we will see in the years to come.
