Stingray Export Ban cancellation

I'm seeing the prices for regular leos dropping slightly here in China (I'm currently working out here). Hong Kong and Guangzhou are where the imports are coming from (and they get them from Taiwan primarily, though some from EU. One guy I know says he's getting directly from Brazil).

The fish shops specializing in rays are ridiculously trying to keep the prices high, because once one shop relents on the price, it all just tumbles down for everyone. But the "normal" shops who somehow got their hands on a couple are selling at the lower prices. Just what I'm seeing.

Nope, not the wild caught ones. One shop says end of this month or early next month. But until I see it with my eyes, who knows. But this guy has been one of the more reliable shops. I got my male leo from him jsut about 2 years ago.

My point was more on the pricing than the actual ban. Believe it or not, just about 1.5 years ago people in China were still saying that it was not possible to breed leos in captivity... i'm sure to keep the prices up. Either way, I think the combination of the news of the ban lift and the fact that more non-professional breeders can breed leos at home is making the prices softer.

So does that mean they can export more since they were DOA?

Hell no once they leave there part of the quota dead or alive when they arrive.
