I have a 105G starfire glass tank with a 40G acrylic sump. A single overflow handles about 1000Gph. The water goes from the display into the Durso pipe down to the first chamber with mechanical filtration media. The middle section contains the pumps for Aquiripure filter and a separate pump for UV and 3 reactors (carbon, Phospahate, and CO2). The last section contain the return pump rated at 1800GPH. The return flow is controller by a valve that return part pf the water back into the sump. Two aquaripure canisters are outside of the tank. The only other filtration I have in the tank is foam inserts on all the pumps. This is more to keep the snails out (got them with the plants - stingrays took care of all the ones in the display; the remainder lives in the sump).
I change about 30G of water once a month. Reconstituted RO water is used.
The tank has 2 Hystrix (male and female). The female is about 10'' disk, the male is still small ~6'' disk. I also have a 10'' silver Aro and foot long fire eel along with some smaller fishes.
The tank is lightly planted in the back. Between the eel and stingrays is hard to keep plants alive (for instance I found out that both Hystrixes love to chew on balansae leaves destroying 40 plants in under a week), but I was able to find a few species the seem to leave alone.
