Stingray help

My advice would is that you shouldn't by any ray. You said you don't want anything poisonous. Motoros are poisonous. You only want a pellet fed fish. You could probably train a ray to eat pellets but it certainly isn't their first choice. I don't understand why you would go through all the effort to get something you really don't want in the first place, get it eat only the foods you want it to, put your other fish at risk, and then get rid of it after a year or two.

I have 1 ray, so I'm not an expert but I do have experience and do my research, including listening to the people on this forum. My ray was a rescue. He went from a tiny tank to a tank that was better but still too small, and now to a tank double that size that will serve as his home until I get a monster-sized aquarium up and running for him. I have other fish in the tank with him but nothing that I will mourn if he kills them.

There are plenty of really cool fish you could get that would be much easier to take care of and more compatible with the fish you already own. Get one of them instead of a ray.

I had well fed 1inch rd fry eat a 6 inch axolotl alive in a matter of minutes. Poor guy was half skeleton and still alive by the time I got to him.

Not bad really like them how big your aquarium. And sorry that I called u a smart ass and all that the other things . Anyway I like your fish and they are really awesome what type is this? Really like them

No worries, I know I am direct and to the point without bothering to explain my position. That was my 210g and those are retics.

Mr. Allgood why would you put an axolotl with flowerhorns. NOT a smart move. Small tetras would destroy axolotls. Not to mention they like cool water. I keep axolotls and won't mix with any Fish. Infact they are housed individually.

Yeah, it was a long time ago, I had no idea what to do with him so I dropped him in with my fry while rinsing a 10g out for him. Bad mistake

Raja I would not get a ray. I'm sure the one at the shop isn't eating floating pellets. I would maybe say go for it if you can witness this Ray eat floating pellets. I am trying to offer some serious advice. No one has really touched on the aspect that rays have to be trained for months or even years to accept pellets. More common foods are frozen fish and shrimp. But most likely your ray that is fresh wild caught Will need live food to start out. Shrimps black worms etc.it Will most likely be infested with parasites. Should be quarantined away from other fish for months. Not to be rude but you sound to lazy to keep a stingray and didn't seem to bothered of the thought of your Fish possibly killing it.
