IMO rays and bass are a bad choice for a 120gallon

in my opinion, ray(with no "S") with any tankmate is a bad choice for a 120.

Rays piss like crazy and they eat a lot (messy too)... thats what messes up your water. For filteration, Im not familiar with the ones u posted but I would set up filters for a 240gl on that 120... Its always best to over filtrate than what your Petco/NonPetSmart employees say.

Sounds like you are a new guy to MFK and rays bro... I highly recomm you do about a weeks worth of using the "Search Engine" and try to read everything you can about Rays, Rays with H2o changes and rays with filtering... this will save you tons of headaches and not knowing what to do except post a Thread with a Q waiting for someone to respond... JM2cents:D

what do you mean rays with no s ? the magnum 350 is for a 100. a emporer 400 is for a 90 i think and i kinda want a aquaclear 500. and ill have bubbles so theyll be alot of water movement.

Ray is 1 pc, Ray(s) is more than 1pc (2 or more). Your tank size is already small (there are sticky threads with min tank sizes, your tank is for new borns not close for life).

Personally, canisters and sumps are the only way to go... hang ons are just for a lil extra push (in my book). I would not use a hang on for a main filter:grinno:.
Its like buying :grinno:donuts (spare tires) for your everyday car... you only have one or 2 for that little extra to feel safe not to smash with no worries.

I think ive been patient enough and gave the best advise I could (there is my good deed for the day:headbang2), so its up to you from here big dogg

If you do get one, post some pics... Id like to see;)

you say no arowana because they get too big.but rays get ****** massive unless this teacup is for sure a retic i would research and find out wht kind of ray it really is first.

i though retics was the hardest kind to keep, mostly because they get really big

Retics dont get big... I think they max out around 14" or so but dont quote me :)

retics are harder to keep cause they are usually shipped too small and hard to get eating. but after they start eating you dont hear many complaints.

Other.

get a bigger tank for rays and arowana and some pbass. your going to have to upgrade soon after anyways to accomodate the rays
