Stingray Symposium update

Some of the material needs to be published before it is released.

That is the big kicker. A lot of the info we were allowed to hear is unpublished at this point. It's not out there for the general public officially (yet).

besides Mike's place in NY, (I'd definately go) would there be a concideration of holding it at Foxwoods or Moehican Sun in Conn., there are plenty of halls for meeting and hotel rooms there are fairly cheap and parking as well, as apposed to NY--hotels are outragous, parking rots...........Plus we could gamble at night.
Also not far From PA, NJ, NY and MA. --Just a thought
Oh yeah,,,,I'll buy a DVD or VHS if produced.

Another idea, How about a Stingray Symposium forum or chat where we can schedual times to have these open discussions.

Love the idea. The M.A.N chat will be up eventually, when it does happen I will be sure to post a thread about having a ray chat hour!!!!

Hey maybe we can have the next synposium in Northern Idaho or Spokane, WA.. that would be like extra sweet and stuff.. I hear there are some good gymnasiums at the middle school near my house. Everyone should come! I will bring the pizza..

Miles pay hotel stay and up for that as well.

Vegas could be another option,,,,,,,,,,reason I thought the casinos in Conn. would be a good idea is because hotel stays there are cheaper and the night time could be fun (drinks are free as long as you're gambling), and it was my understanding it would be nice to bring it to the east coast.


I was planning to go to Chi-town but I couldn't commit due to a family issue.

Yeah, at one point I even heard someone go as far as saying this type of meet my never happen again.
We can sit on forums like this and talk all day and night... and sometimes we'll be graced by people like Erica or Frank with bits of knowledge from what they know that is above and beyond what we can do with typical home tanks. But hearing straight from the people working in the rivers and back waters of South America is a rare treat indeed. And having so many experts from all over the world in one room at one time is a rare thing.

Sorry, due to the information on the dvd we wil not be releasing it until we get approval from all the parties involved & it is copywrited. Those who were gracious enough to share with all who attended are studying rays for their job or their education, it would not be a good thing for people to publish their hard work as their own for a few bucks. We are going to start a fund to help research of stingrays & when we release the DVD the proceeds will go to help study rays. The Symposium was a huge leap for those who went & I think all of us would not like to see the information abused.

I am pushing to have the next symposium in Brazil so we can all learn & help. Once you all see some of the published work & or the DVD you will understand..
