:help2:Ok so I am deployed currently, but I have a 220g (6’x2’x2.5’) tank at home waiting to be set up its drilled for a sump and I have a 40g sump for it I will be using a quietone 9000 pump, a 40watt aqua uv sterilizer before the pump is split back up to the tank. I will also have an fx5 filled with pond matrix for the bio load. I have thought about doing a tank full of bigger stuff like bichir’s, lungfish, flowerhorns, or catfish.. There have been a few times I thought about going full community tank or doing a discus tank. :uhoh:. I won’t get home to set up my tank till December:cry: so I got awhile to plan. This tank will be a center piece for the house it is in and must be jaw dropping so any thoughts ideas will be wonderful. Price of fish doesn’t mean a thing to me as long as the will look great and my tank will work for them. I have lighting I could do live plants or coral with as well but fresh water isn’t given enough credit and I would like to make a jaw dropping fresh water tank.:help2:

1-red tail giant gourami
2-endlicheri bichirs
1-silver or black arowana - depending on preference
5-black bar silver dollars(if you can get your habds on any.. if not normals look nice to
1-pineapple pleco
1 leiarius pictus(sailfin pim)

I thought about doing something like that, but i hear alot of people say that the tank is to small for a full grown silver or black aro and honestly with them that setup just seems lacking. idk great idea but I want to hear more!!!!!!!!

:confused:Any other ideas?

Oscars would be cool if i could get some long finned or really rare stuff. I really thought about discuss. i could grow them out in a my spare 65 get like 10-14 and a few clown loaches, that would deffinatly be a eye grabber how many you think i could get in a 220g?

I honestly don't know, I haven't kept discuss before, but have been doing some reading down in the discuss section and kicking myself for not going that route.

If I had that large of a tank I'd go that route with a nice big fire eel. I think it would be very appealing visually with all those colors and then a nice gentle oddball aka the fire eel.

my 220 (same deminsions and filtter setup as yours) it is a CA/SA tank. Stocklist is
2 wc GT's (both male) 6&8"
1 green sev (male) 7"
1 cuban (male) 5"
1 convict (male) 4"
4 flagtails (temperary...5-8")
1 L191 (5")
1 L052 (4")
1 L001 (13")
And a 12" fire eel.

My sump is a 55 gallon full of bio media then I use a magnum 350 for mech, the magnum even has 2 bio-wheels for more bio. I also have several powerheads to avoid deadspots. I do weekly 50% wc's.My parameters are always perfect and my tank looks perfect, not to full not to empty... just my 2 cents. Id say go CA/SA community. HTH
