Those are all nice setups. but i want peoples jaws too hit the floor when they see the tank.

?????? any more ideas?

Hahaha. When you said you were deployed, a vision just played in my head of you firing into the distance shouting between shots "CICHLIDS? CATFISH? AROWANA?"
Sorry...It made me laugh.
But if you'd like, there are my suggestions! :D

Or you could transfer your 65g reef to this tank and make an awesome reef tank.

The discus route is always fun, my suggestion is always the same with them:

-Discus (You could do I lot but id do like 10-12)
-Silver Hatchets
-Colombian Tetras
-Rummynose Tetras
-Panda Corys
-A few smaller rare plecos of your choice
-Farowellola Twig catfish
-Rams/ or other dwarf cichlid
-angelicus botia
-depending on how many discus you get and how much room you have left over, I always wish I had room in my setup for a Black Ghost Knifefish

Then of course I would plant it, not necessarily over the top though. I find it more attractive and simplier to plant with well placed large groups of anubias and other easier plants. Maybe throw in a lotus for a center piece, and of course some kinda of floating plants. And i would go for smaller to midsize branchy driftwoood, and river stones on top of some sand or natural gravel.

I had thought about doing something like this it deffinatly has alot of possibility if done right. but i also would love to do some big fish like a aro or some catfish.....

Ok what do you guys think about a South american tank... like a few Cichla and a mata mata turtle.

if u want a nice show fish i'd go with a dragon flowerhorn but ya... or a mix of fishes like aro, ray, ff, cl, & etc. but you'd prob have to upgrade to a bigger tank later when all the fishes get bigger. or you can go all out on a crazy cichlid tank
