I like the Matamata idea with Cichla. I have a Mata and Dat tank that is too small for cichla. I have 5 Red Hook/thin barred SDs, I full grown Featherfin, full grown 4 lined cat, two 10-11" Indos, one 6" Indo, one 5" NTT, one 3" NTT, one 3" NGT, one 5.5" AT, and one 8-9" Delhezi. The Mata is about 6" shell length. I would add cichla and maybe a pima cat if I had the 220! The combo of awesome cichla and the wacky Mata would turn heads no doubt!!

I could do saltwater, i guess.... i hate having 10 hours a day to think about what i want for this tank and yet i cant start it!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH I AM LOSING MY MIND!

Im with you there man!! Deployed too and im trying to figure out what to do with my 90gal Oceanic when i get back. Either Discus community or salt to be honest. GL with whatever you do and stay safe!

I would do a SW predator tank or a Lake Tang with Calvus, sand sifters a couple gobies and frontosas

My 220 has a nice peaceful feel to it with the following:
2 Chinese hi fin banded shark Myxocyprinus asiaticus
5 redline sharks
5 lemon tetras

You said you liked catfish.... getting a sailfin marbled catfish with some bigger sa/ca cichlids and oscars would be cool. Otherwise you could do the discus/ angels/ rams with large schools of rummynose and neon tetras, they look amazin, otherwise i would do big sa/ca cichlids like oscars, pearl cichlids, jack dempseys and midas

Just thought of another option, an african tank. Load it up with synos, ropefish, huge school of congo tetras, african butterflyfish, knifefish, and a puffer
