Stocking help for a 450 gallon Mbuna Cichlid tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is an 8x2x4'? Setup looks great, tank doesn't look as big but could just be the picture. I don't have much experience with crayfish. Not sure if it would bother the plecos tbh.
I think it is just the picture. I am probably going to get a better picture at some point. I'll do some more research on plecos and crayfish so far I can't find any experienced fish keepers who have done it so I probably won't. Probably will choose one or the other.

So if there are two fish that have the same of the first two names they are the same fish just different colors? I'm looking specificly at the Acai but also for the others. There is a Msuli and a Ngara. I can have both, right?

Also, this is my stocking plan at the moment.

Your list should work fine for a 450 gallon tank. An addition I might make would be trewavasae. Adds the unique mouth shape to the mix.
The gibbiceps pleco would work fine but I had a huge one that didn't eat much algae. I usually recommend bristlenose because they do a good job on the algae even as adults in my experience. I'd get 3 or 4 of them.
agree with getting bristle nose albinos look nice

The e first name is genus, second is species, third is locale. Same 1st two names means same species. As for whether two acei from msuli and ngara will interact with each other as conspecifics or not, I am not sure. Either way you would probably be fine I think in this size tank.

My mom went out... came back with a bunch of cichlids. Still trying to figure out what they all are. Already found one that we will have to return. I discovered two of them are Nimbochromis livingstonii which is a haps, I believe from my research. We also have some bumble bees. Once I figure out what else we have I will share that.
