Stocking?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They do still sometimes chill on the bottom, its not an unheard of thing so like I said be careful and keep the pleco well fed. Ive found hikari carni sticks or sinking pellets are great for small carnivores. You might need to break em up if they're really small

This is a 29g for most. Definitely no to pacu. Thats poor fish keeping if you want fish that outgrow the tank to resell especially when only suitable for a very short time. Pacu will not work i hear of extremely fast growth rates and they get over 24". I also say no to piranha to big. I would say get nothing that gets over 7-8" max since most will get 6". Piranha will most likely kill everything. Try dwarf pikes or killis i say a single dwarf snake head would work but some are sub tropical so they require more care. Or just upgrade.

Right now i can't upgrade. I am going to try this combination. Beacause they are availeble only right now. I don't have a big choice. So, after all i an goig to keep a piranha, bichir and a pleco. Today i am going to take the bichir. And i am going to look for the piranha.

I would say they are too big for this tank. I would say look for the chaca.

Since what is available to you seems rather limited, how about you give us a list of some of the commonly seen fish for sale in your area that you like, and we'll advise you on if it will or will not work...

Since with you wanting to stock a pleco, piranha and birchir together in a 29G sounds like a disaster waiting to happen imo...

From the monster fish ,there are not many available. Piranhas are not very common. The most common are some american cihlids :Astronotus, Meeki,Convicts, Severus,Jaguars. From these i like the oscars and the jaguars . And maybe the convicts.

Maybe there are more available but i remember only these. What can i keep with bichir? If you have any other suggestions. I will say you if they are available.

^ to be completely fair, im not sure a birchir would last forever in a 29G tank...

And adding something like an oscar in there is a definite no go, since he will eventually outgrow your tank...

I think realistically, a pair of convicts or some other small fish are your only options unless your willing to setup a larger tank...

What kind of bichir do you have? And for a cool fish that you want to hunt for prey or whatever get an African leaf fish. For that size tank I think they would be cool. Especially have more than one
