no where
ok im having chest pains, so i think this is a good enough time for me to quit smoking, just threw out a 20 dollars bag worth of pipe tabbaco, and busted up my corncob pipe, now i still have a pack of cigs infront of me.. gotta throw those out.. but its kinda hard when everyone else in the house smokes besides my grandad, he never started which is smart! going to make an apt tomm with the docs about my chest! so wish me luck all and PLZ tell me your storys on quitting!?

How exactly did you start smoking in the first place?

I honestly don't see why anyone would even start. I mean, if the thought of inhaling smoke isn't enough to deter you, what about pictures of tarry, cancerous lungs?

Good luck on quitting. If you have to, lock yourself in a reverse panic room that will unlock itself in 3 months (or however long it takes to get over the cravings).

thing is i dont get cravings, i just smoke when i see someone out in the ketchin, useally have a smoke with them or when im out shoppin gi have a smoke outside after im done shopping.

you know if this was directed at a heroin addict it'd sound pretty derogatory. the fact of the matter is people do stupid stuff and when you become addicted almost no amount of common sense will kick you off the wagon until you're actually damaged. Remember necessity is the mother of invention.

good luck livebearerfreak. :)

u made the right decision, i dont smoke, so didnt want to quit it... LOL. but several of my friends really quit it without having a big problem..
even if u are ok now, later can cause lot of problems because of smoke, so just quit and be happy with what u did..
good luck mate

Except doesn't heroin give you intense rushes of euphoria? It's still stupid to start, but I kind of understand why someone would want to experience that. And then there's the physical dependence you can develop to heroin to the point of dying if you stop taking it.

From what I've read in books, smoking gives you a lightheaded, dizzy feeling. I don't get why someone would start. Unless I'm missing something, since I've never actually smoked, and every time I pass by someone on the street who's smoking, the smell alone makes me feel ill and breathing in any of the secondhand stuff makes me cough like crazy.

My point is that people do stupid things for things that feel good: drug use, unprotected sex, daredevil stunts, etc. I even understand why someone would develop a dependence on alcohol, since it makes you feel all giddy. But why smoking? Is there some pleasure in smoking that I am not aware of?
