Stray Cat Bounty

I myself have never used Cats as reptile food though I have used Rabbits. But I used to have a friend some years back that kept mainly large Pythons and a few large Monitors and at the time and he used to pick off the strays around his area with a pellet rifle of course at night and then feed them out to his Pythons and Monitors, Cut his feeding bill back quite a bit for a while.
Cats don't bother me except when in heat then they can drive a person mad.

I don't agree with this at all simply because I don't agree with taking the life of an innocent animal. I think there is many alternatives to what they are doing instead of just killing them all. I mean sure there is nothing you can do with a wild, mean stray cat. But what if you find a stray that has a good disposition and could be re-homed? I think in those cases they should immunize that cats and give them to a shelter to be re-homed. But in no way shape or form do I agree with just killing all of these cats.

I think my biggest thing is what if someone has a cat that they allow outdoors, and the cat is out, trapped, brought in and killed?? Then that person looses a pet that they dearly loved. I think this is a ridiculous idea.

its not. If we really love our cats as i do they would keep them indoors like i do, safe and out of any harm the outside world can muster. It doesnt get any simpler than that. My cat at my fathers house on the other hand, like to venture outside afew times a day, so what do i do? go out with him, and He isnt allowed to venture any farther than the yard.

What if he escapes? you might ask? plain and simple KEEP A COLLAR WITH TAGS ON IT WITH ALL YOU INFO SO HE CAN BE RETURNED TO YOUR POSESSION.

i think (and according to the bible)that what is being proposed is healthy in keeping the population of these cats in check, healthy, and in this cases more tolerable.

as stuartist of the earth it is our job to keep populations like this in check. We are to control the numbers of animals (in this case cats) so disease and sickness do not kill them all off (and any indiginous wildlife and any actual pets that so belong to the people), we are to use the animals for our needs (companionship?), we are to control animals in a manner in which they are not harmful to people, and finally we should protect them from over-killing and abuse.

you cant make a stray cat people and family compatible, it just doesnt work. plus the money needed to fund a shelter supplies, medical supplies, food, water, the cost would be rediculous!

Scripture does not indicate a principle that would assume it as a sin or ungodly practice. It does not produce an evilness of man nor does it produce that attitude.

However by some of the comments im reading in this thread i am seeing an evilness produced, namely from you of the fact that you would "kick the crap out of them" an unjustified act which is not a characteristic of a christian.

1. wait 12 years or so before you judge my Christianity.Alot is going to happen between 21 and your 30s.You can quote the bible all you want but wait till the stories it holds start being revealed in your own life.You dont have to prove your faith to anyone but judging other believers surely turns non believers away.Ive seen it time and time again,personally i think it was in bad character to dig into what i wrote,take me serious and then bring it to attention.I didnt mean to produce evil into this thread......

3. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If you can take in a cat and have it med checked and then leave it in your home to feed and just chill most will chill out to make great pets.They may not be as social as some but who cares.Now to me,i dont think our homes are overfilled with cats and their are plenty of ppl they can go to.Most ppl are to lazy to do the leg work.All the cats throughout my family are from the streets and so are my 2.Best cats i ever had.I realy think it comes down to ppl would rather watch tv,or whatever they do then to take time out and actualy save the animal.They arent deer,they can be housed unless deathly sick or nuts.lol.,,,,,,,,,,,,
4. ,,,,,,,,,,,As far as shooting them,i cant imagine how weak that would make me feel.My girlfreind took in a stray mother cat and helped it give birth.When one died in her hands ill never forget how she cried that night.We have a shelter that takes donations and in my town they get lots of money and they dont put animals down unless they are truely too sick to make it.We found homes for them all.It took lots of time away from several days but we would do it again.

I think there are many people out there who would disagree with you in just the opposite way. That you keeping your cat indoors and not letting it have it's free time outside is loving it less. Personally I do not but I have to say that there is probably people out there who view how you keep your cat much differently then you do.

On a lighter note, personally I started laughing at the reporter's stupidity when she just lured the STRAY cat in oblivous to the fact that it could be diseased or that it might just make a lunge for her or both. I hope for those who decide to capture strays there that they don't follow here example, esp. since I know of someone who went to the ER after becoming deathly ill bc of this.

I think there are many people out there who would disagree with you in just the opposite way. That you keeping your cat indoors and not letting it have it's free time outside is loving it less. Personally I do not but I have to say that there is probably people out there who view how you keep your cat much differently then you do.

Maybe they dont understand what love is. I can Neglect my cat to the highest degree filthy living conditions, no food, filthy water, no litter box and still so call "love it". In fact there are people who ACTUALLY provide NOTHING for there cats because they live off of the outside world and STILL love there cat. is this just? it isnt. Love is a determine act of the will, its not a feeling or an emotion. So i love my cat because OUT OF MY OWN WILL i am determined to keep her out of harms way by keeping her indoors and provide all the nessesities (food, water, kitty box, etc etc) she needs to thrive.

Honestly buddy I think you need a reality check. I don't know where you find these "truth's" that say you can determine what's right and wrong and what is fair and just, just because you can quote the bible doesn't mean you're Jesus. Why don't you back up your so called facts and truths.......Where can you find that it says keeping a cat outdoors is not loving it? Or where keeping your cat indoors makes you love your at more then others? No, you can't.

I'm about done with this thread I think anymore and I'll just get myself in trouble.
