I think so I used both as prep for breeding on multiple cichlid species before

It makes sense since the last time I've had anything successfully spawn was that pair that I mentioned. If it worked for you also its worth the shot.

HRP x Pink marble, im very excited about this pair and they laid eggs in this pic.The plan is to eventually make blue marbles i cant wait.

I've heard that breeding a normal convict with a white convict doesn't really produce calicos, but the offspring will have a better chance of producing calicos as long as they breed with another white convict. I think the offspring from a normal convict and white convict usually come out as normal convicts.

Dude you are so right, i wanted a dark marble but i couldnt find any. That is a good idea, i cant believe no one tried for the blue marble but i hope i make some nice ones.

That's a nice pair Ernie. My lfs had a blue and Pearl hrp pair that spawned. The fry never made it cause the owner doesn't like to rear fry.I would have live to seen how those turned out.

Mike those sound like the ones that Rapps has for sale they look like regular cons with the orange redish splotches. I was gunna try to breed some of those too if this project didn't work out

That the whole point of breeding the offspring together, im not trying to get wanted outcome in the first generation because i know it wont happen. When I breed the offspring together i will get the outcome that im looking for.

I've heard the same thing. So what I planning on doing is once I get the first brood witch will most likely be a mix of black and white. Rear that brood pick out the best looking ones and pair them up. Black and white and hopefully that second batch will produce calico. It might take some more broods to get it right though.
